  1. I thought this was pretty interesting. I rarely think too much of gender roles in our culture, much less other ones. I thought the points about other roles being different and not deviant was fascinating, as were the stories to explain them.

  2. Wow, to be honest ,the first time I read the article, I thought about homosexuality as a normality. I cannot believe that other third world countries believe that it is okay to have female qualities or vice versa ( depending on their (gender= sex). I do not know what to believe though ( now_). Especially how some kids are born as a transgender. I have empathy on them because they do not know what sex they are. And as a result they struggle with their identity. I now know and understand a little about homosexuality or how some men act like women ( vice versa). I think the article open my mind to understanding and being less judgmental. Today lecture was interesting also. I have learned a lot from other student's opinions and at times my own.

    1. I think it is also interesting how some of the males in some cultures take women roles and vice versa. It is a very interesting lecture all together.

  3. This article was extremely interesting since readers were able to compare a modern world that expects statuses from everyone and a society that plays into the changes of sex roles. It made me think about what I view as "natural" in the light of other societies. For me it is natural to think that a guy needs to fit the role of a guy and a girl needs to fit the role of a girl. If it is not how life is, there is some room for sexes to switch roles. What is really expected of man? Can man be whoever they want to be? Or is it wrong for a man or a woman to switch it's roles given from sex within society? It can easily turn into a "no, your wrong!" type of situation.
